Today was our first Mommy and Me class at Amanda's Place. Ms. Julie (a member of our church and a youth mama) is the teacher and today was so fun! We made 3 new friends who range from 5 months to 12 months. We sang, played with bubbles (Eli LOVED them), "Baby Surfed", played with balls and made our first ever project! Eli's little hands in the shape of a sun! We are registered for 8 weeks and it will be fantastic!!

So I can't believe the time has come already, but Eli has had his first day at SCHOOL! He didn't cry when mama left, but mama sure did! He is going to the pre-school at our church and so far I think he likes it. He seems to like watching the other babies and seeing what they are doing. He had a good day on his first day (he cried some) but on his second day he had a GREAT day! Eli goes to school 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) and we are taking a Mommy and Me class on Tuesday's with Ms. Julie at Amanda's Place. We start that this coming week. I can't believe that Eli is in school already, but it was a good decision and he loves his teachers! When we left the other day he reached for his teacher to give her a kiss before we left! So sweet!! Eli's first day of school lunch box!On our way to school! With his teacher Ms. MichelleSo we have made it to 9 months.... I can't believe how time is flying! We have been through so much, but we I look at Eli I know it was all worth it. He weighs 18 lbs and is 27.25 inches long. He is in the 9% for height and 7% for length! :o) We are very proud of him! He is our big boy! On the day that Eli turned 9 months old, he had his first big boo-boo... He fell head first into the corner of the computer with his eye! Mama felt so bad... :o( Both of us cried. But he was ok after a nap. On a happier note... We are officially sitting up! About a week before Eli turned 9 months old, he started sitting up for about 1 minute. Now at 9 months he can sit up for 5-7 minutes at times! :o) YEAH! At his 9 month DR's appointment.Eli's boo-boo on his eye.Sitting up and looking oh so cute!Mama's new favorite onesie... Charlie Brown! So, our first tooth has come in! :o) As of Sunday Aug. 8 there is a little tiny tooth pushing up... You can't really see it but you can sure feel it! lol. When he tries to chew on your finger... OWWW! lol. As soon as I can get a pic I will post it! You can see it... Just a little bit!Today was Eli's surgery. We woke up at 2:30 this morning to feed him his last bottle of formula till after the surgery. He work up right on time at 8:00 am and was a happy boy. He really didn't fuss for any food or anything! :o) At about 9:30 am we gave him a bottle of diluted apple juice and he happily drank it. We got into the car to go at 10:00 am. At 10:20 we got there and registered. By 10:45 we were in with the nurse doing vitals. Then off to the peds ambulatory area for more paper work and vitals. We were finally taken to the pre-op room at about 11:45. FINALLY at 1:45 they came and took Eli back to the operating room. (We had met with nurses, anesthesia and the doctor by this time.) At about 3:30 they came to get us to go back and sit with Eli in recovery. Mama and Dada first, then Nanny, then G-Ma got to go in and see him. When the nurse woke him up he took a full bottle of apple juice and was so happy to drink it! At 5:15 we were let go and we went home from the hospital. Eli has a cathiter till Tuesday and he has a "double diaper" system going till then. But over all today was a ok day. We are so thankful that God has blessed us!! Checking out the waiting area...What's going on over there? In his sweet little hospital gown.In recovery after the surgery. These past 2 weeks have been busy ones for us! We took our first (mini) family vacation to Naples to celebrate GG's 75th birthday July 30-Aug 1. We had a great time! We hung out with most of the family... 5 of the great-grandkids were there too! We have some really sweet pictures of them with GG. :o) Then on Aug. 2 we took off for camp in Leesburg. It was a crazy week, but we had a blast! Eli was the talk of the camp... Everyone knew who he was! :o) We stayed till today. When we got back home, Eli kept looking at Rick like, "I know I know you from somewhere!" lol. :o) Also, fantastic news... Eli is starting **crosses fingers** to sit up for a little longer by himself. :o) But we did face-plant into the carpet 2 times this week... That made mama feel really bad! :o( Eli sleeping in his camping bed on our first family vacation to Naples.Swimming in Naples.Eli was so tired that he couldn't keep his eyes opened for the pics with GG.GG and 5 of the great-grand babies...
