So we have been diagnosed with bronchiolitis. :o/ It is bascially a constricting of the airway and the broncials (the little sacks in the lungs) and swollen and filled with mucus. It makes it very hard for Eli to breath and he has a horrid runny nose! :0/ We are on meds and it will hopefully go away soon considering he can't go to school or be around other little people till it does go away!!

Eli is 10 months old today! He still weights about 18 lbs and is about 27.5 inches long. :o) It is hard to believe that in 2 short months we will have a 1 year old! :o/ But he is growing and developing everyday. I can't believe all the things he is doing... He sits by himself, he loves to play with his toys, he dances!, he reaches for toys and plays with them... He is amazing!! Our formula was recalled! Yech! Similac has recalled over 5 million cans of its formula due to a beetle problem! Our can happened to be one of the recalled ones... If you know anyone who uses Similac encourage them to check and make sure theirs wasn't recalled!! :o/
We worked on the "garden" (our front area) the other day. It was fun. :o) Eli helped... He held the box for us! :o) We also put out our Halloween decorations... A little early, but I love to decorate for holidays! :0)
Sept. 15 was Neonatal Nurses Day! I didn't know this or I would have blogged on that day about the nurses at our NICU! Most of them were AMAZING! There were 2 that are special to us though... Elizabeth was Eli's first day nurse. She helped us through so much... And when it was something we couldn't be there for, Elizabeth made sure she was with him. Pat was Eli's first night nurse... Actually she was in the OR when he was born! She would always play with Eli and make sure that he had everything that he needed. Without these 2 women, our NICU stay would have been very different!!
Today is a sad day... Grandpa (GG-Pa) passed away at 1:30 this afternoon. He went peacefully and is at peace now. We are so blessed to have known him as a happy, healthy, caring, loving man. I am so glad that he got to hold and love Eli for the 10 months that he did. He will be deeply missed! We love you Grandpa!
Well, last weekend we went to Night of Joy/Rock the Universe. We had such a great time! Eli rode his first ride at Disney (the carousel) and got a "Fist Visit" pin. At Islands of Adventure he went to Harry Potter land and was amazed by everything! It was such a great weekend of good music, great teenagers and fun rides! Have I told you lately that I love working with these kids??
First an update on Gramie: She is doing great!! :o) Surgery went well! Thanks for the prayers!
Today was our second developmental clinic. Eli will be going to physical therapy now for a little tilt of his head. We will also be going to a craniologist to talk about the flat spot on the back of his head... He weighs 17 lbs. 13 oz and was measured at 26.5 inches long... :o) I think his length is off though! lol Many of you know my Gramie... Even if you don't, you have heard me talk about her. She is my mom's mom and has been a rock for our family (immediate and extended) for years and years. Now is our time to be a rock for her. She is in the hospital... She has pulminary fibrosis and last week one of her lungs colapsed. They took her to the hospital and put in a chest tube. The first chest tube failed to help and they put in another one. The hole in the lung is still not healing and now they are discussing surgery for tomorrow (Sept. 8). Please, Please, PLEASE keep her in your prayers! Thanks so much!! Love to all! Eli loves his GG!A mom from my original birth board (Feb. 2010) on BabyCenter.com has a start-up web based store called It's a Preemie Thing. She also had a preemie born in November 2009. If you know anyone with a preemie or if you have a preemie, you should check it out! The launch date is tomorrow (Labor Day!) and they are going to have some really cute onesies! I am going to get one for Eli. They will also have a bunch of stuff that preemie parent's need at one stop shopping! Check it out!
