Then as soon as I got back (like literaly!) I drove to G-Ma's and Papa's house for a Meet and Greet with Zack (Auntie Del's FIANCE!)! It was fun to get to hang out with our family and Zack. We don't get to see Zack often because he lives in North Dakota. But it was fun having him down for the week! On Tuesday (March 13) G-Ma, Del, Zack, Eli and I all went down to Knoss Berry Farm for a while. We got milkshakes (strawberry for most, chocolate for me!), picked strawberries and tomatos and bought some great herb sticks and cinnamon buns! YUM!
So Happy Saint Patricks day! Sorry we are a little late! But it's been a crazy couple of weeks for us! I went on a Confirmation retreat with 6 of our youth a couple of weeks ago. It was great and reminds me of my confirmation and why I believe in God. Then as soon as I got back (like literaly!) On that Thursday we had a March for Babies fundraiser at QuarterDeck Davie. It turned out to be an awesome fundraiser! :o) The manager was GREAT! We had a little 15 basket raffle too. We made $193 on the raffle baskets and should find out soon what we made on the QuarterDeck part of the fundraiser. On Saint Patricks Day we went to G-Ma's and Papa for dinner! YUMMMMMM!! I love corned beef! So does Eli! So our March has been pretty busy! And our April is gearing up to be even more busy! We celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary next month! :o) And we are going to Disney to celebrate! According to Eli he, "Can't wait!" "Till what?" "Till Disney, Mama!" :o) It's going to be pretty great! I will try to update more often! :o) Xoxoxo

When I was little, I loved walking on the curb! :o) (Infact, I still do, but shhhh... don't tell!) The other day when Eli and I were walking to the house from across the street, he draged me over to the curb and he jumped up and started walking on it. It made me smile and start thinking...
When do we stop enjoying the "little" things in life? Why don't we just jump up on the curb and pretend it's our balance beam again? What stops us from jumping in the rain puddle? Why don't we sit outside and eat the popcicle? Why do we have to "grow up" according to other peoples standards? I think we need to do all of these things a little more! I (much to Rick's dismay) let Eli jump in puddles all the time. :o) I choose not to because I don't like getting my feet wet, but I hope that I will always (ok, usually!) let Eli do it! As for the balance beam of a curb, next time Eli want's to do it, Mama is going to jump up right behind him and do it too!! And the popcicle? Eli and I enjoy them outback on a weekly basis! :o) I think we need to allow ourselves to keep some of the fun that we had as kids in our grown up lives. We have so many "grown up" things stacked against us... Jobs, house work, finances, family responsibilities, bills.... Why not allow ourselves some of the "little" things that can make life a little more fun? Be a kid again! :o) So this April 21 we (Rick and I) will celebrate 5 years of being married! I can't believe that it's been 5 years! I often tell Rick, "If you had told me this would be our life 5 years later, I wouldn't have believed you!" lol. But things are great... What a blessing these 5 years have blessing!
So to celebrate, what are we doing? Why we are taking our 2 year old to Disney! :o) :o) It is going to be awesome! :o) :o) We are going to stay at Pop Century Resort and got the 3 day pass. :o) Plus we have reservations at the character breakfast in Hollywood Studios... The charaters are all the ones from Disney Junior!! Handy Manny, Jake (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates), Special Agent Oso and June (from Little Einsteins). Eli is going to FREAK OUT! I can't wait!! |
