So last night right after I blogged about what I sent in the sewing swap, I got my part of the sewing swap in the mail! :) It was so much fun to do this, I think if I ever see another one I will participate again! :)
The first thing in the package was a little felt owl. Eli loves it already! :)
The second thing was a little envelope....
to hold needles! How cute is this!?!?
The last thing were fabric samples!
It was a great swap and I hope that the recevie of my swap is as pleased as I am with my swap! :) :) :)
I have really enjoyed sewing more with my mom in the garage! lol. We have had so much fun making things like Gramie pillow cases, a Curious George birthday banner for Eli, snack packs, sandwich bags and purse tissue holders. :) We are well on our way to making more too!
So when I signed up for this sewing swap, I had no idea what to make. The person I was paired with is from Texas and a self proclamed nerd, so this is what transpired....
This is a little snack pack, money holder, pill holder, etc.
It closes with velcro at the top.
The Batman is in honor of her nerdy-ness... I hope she likes it!
And is fully lined with waterproof lining in case she wants to put som
The second little item I included is a purse tissue holder.
It is in a BBQ fabric in honor of her Texas roots. :)
It was alot of fun to make these little items and I hope to do another sewing swap soon! I can't wait to blog about what I recieve from the swap! :) :) :)
Eli and I discussed September 11th today and how it was a sad day for many people. He asked why the Talaban are naughty people? I told him because they don't have Jesus in their heart. He said but why not? I told him because they choose not to. He asked why not? And I thought, that's a hard question to answer....
This was part of my FB status this morning. I can't believe that it has been 11 years since that day.... I was a senior in HS and was in Childcare class so we didn't know what was going on because we didn't watch TV in there. When I left class I saw people huddled into little groups crying and one girl run screaming down the hall. Still having no idea what happened, I went to psych class and was told there. It was shocking and so so sad. One of the kids in the class's dad was a pilot and he was actually flying to DC that day. The kids mom came to pick him up ASAP. It was a blessing that his dad was all right after everything happened!
It's sad for me to think that Eli and the new baby will have to grow up in a world with all this in it. :( But they are such a blessing in our lives and we will work hard to make sure that they are beacons of love, hope and light in this world of darkness. Infact, we should all work to be that love, hope and light in this dark world. That is what God calls us to do and we need to try harder to be that!
This is the sign that was at the preschool today! Made by Bethy's 2 year old class. :)
Here is Eli with the sign at preschool. :) Always remember, never forget, make a difference because we need it.
So I signed up to paticipate in a sewing swap! :) It's going to be great! Each person sews up something for someone else, packages it up and then sends it to the other person. You don't know what you will get or whom from. :) I will blog more about it when I am done with my project and when I get my swap! :)
