When do we stop enjoying the "little" things in life? Why don't we just jump up on the curb and pretend it's our balance beam again? What stops us from jumping in the rain puddle? Why don't we sit outside and eat the popcicle?
Why do we have to "grow up" according to other peoples standards? I think we need to do all of these things a little more! I (much to Rick's dismay) let Eli jump in puddles all the time. :o) I choose not to because I don't like getting my feet wet, but I hope that I will always (ok, usually!) let Eli do it! As for the balance beam of a curb, next time Eli want's to do it, Mama is going to jump up right behind him and do it too!! And the popcicle? Eli and I enjoy them outback on a weekly basis! :o)
I think we need to allow ourselves to keep some of the fun that we had as kids in our grown up lives. We have so many "grown up" things stacked against us... Jobs, house work, finances, family responsibilities, bills.... Why not allow ourselves some of the "little" things that can make life a little more fun?
Be a kid again! :o)
