Sometimes I go with the traditional, "it's not about the presents, it's about the baby." Every so often I say, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season." And almost always at the top of my holiday list is spending time with friends and family.
These are all the traditional reasons and sayings and things that people do... Some people get lost in the hustle and bustle and loose sight of the real meaning. They are clouded with gifts, candy canes and parties... Not a bad thing but when they cloud the real meaning of Christmas, they have to move over!
But I want to look at something that people usually associate with another holiday as the meaning of Christmas tonight... Thankfulness. Thanksgiving often gets overlooked as a holiday an it is often the only holiday that we associate what we are thankful for with. But this Christmas, one of my "true" meanings of Christmas is thankfulness. I am thankful to God for sending Jesus to walk in flesh among us. I am thankful for the way He did it... Sending Jesus as a humble baby born in the backyard of a neighborhood. I am thankful for all the blessings that God has bestowed upon our family, even when we don't deserve them. I am thankful that God so loved the world that He sent His only begoten Son that whomever shall believe in Him shall not die, but shall have eternal life.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
