Psalm 23:4
So I went to a funeral today for an older man from my previous church. He had had Parkinsins (the demensia kind, like Grandpa) and had finally passed away to go into God's glory and be healed from that horrific disease.
At the funeral they read Psalm 23. They read those verses at most funerals. I always thought it was a nice section of the Bible and gave comfort to the greiving families... But now I GET it! I understand why it gives comfort... Even though it took me this long to get it, I appreciate God giving that comfort to us all these years.
It all goes back to Women of Faith this past October. One of the speakers was talking and talking and I had just about tuned her out. But then she said, "Where there is a shadow, there is light." It clicked... We walk through the valley of the SHADOW of death! There is light some where in there! The light of God! So even though we are walking in the SHADOW of the valley of death, we don't have to be afraid because the LIGHT of God is there! Sometimes when we get consumed with the who "death" part, we forget about the "shadow" part meaning that there was a light to be found somewhere past the shadow.
It's nice to know that we will see the Light one day... But for now, I am thankful that I can see the
